He is a veterinary industry innovator who seamlessly blends his background as a practicing veterinarian with nearly two decades of experience as an animal health executive and strategist. He’s motivated by a desire to use data to improve the lives of pets, pet families, and veterinary healthcare teams.
His animal health industry experience includes driving transformational change in Chief Veterinary Officer roles at Nationwide and Petplan, and providing marketing and consulting expertise for brands like Boehringer Ingelheim, NAVC, and Hill’s as Head of Medical Strategy at Circa Healthcare.
A sought-after speaker and thought leader, Dr. Benson inspires audiences with his insights on the future of veterinary medicine. He’s a dedicated advocate for the profession, currently serving as Chair of the Veterinary Innovation Council (VIC).
Originally from Lancaster, UK, he now calls Fort Collins, CO home where he lives with his wife, Melissa, a handsome orange cat, Jethro, an accidental Chihuahua, Bean, and an uncertain, ever-changing number of bicycles.
